Wow. These weeks are quite draining. I’m wore out. And I have sooo much work to do on the truck, it’s not funny. I would love to just lounge about tomorrow, but I don’t see that happening.
I will be updating you as to my progress on the aforementioned truck. This [...]

I received a notice in the mail today from the fine folks in the North Augusta Municipal Department. It seems that the Mercury is in violation of certain codes. They informed me that it would be quite alright with them if I were to have it removed immediately.
Always one to oblige, I called [...]

I’ve been making good progress on the truck for the past few days. I started out today with having to decide if I wanted to work some more on the wiring harness or if I wanted to start fixing up the Merc engine.
The wiring harness lost out as I just didn’t feel like chasing [...]

I’ve made more headway on the wiring harness. I should have it ready to install shortly. By “shortly”, I mean in about another 5 or 6 hours of work.
I’ve made this much more difficult than it actually had to be. I insisted on keeping all of the feedback systems and safety devices [...]

W00t! I finally made some headway on the truck. I have the wiring harness out of the Mercury and and currently paring it down to its essential pieces now that it is unencumbered by a Grand Marquis body. Here it is in it’s 8 feet of glory:

This afternoon I disconnected everything on the F100 except the motor mounts, transmission mount [...]

She ain’t what she used to be, that’s for sure. The F100 broke down on the way home from work Thursday night. When it cut off, I knew things were bad. It didn’t just stop firing. It was more like it shuddered to a stop. I let the old girl [...]

The cats I wanted to get the Crown Vic from sold it before I could get back with them, so that is a no go. I’m going to check out the new Iwanta and see if there might be another available elsewhere. I can’t wait to get the turn signal switch in and [...]

I finally ordered the correct turn signal switch for the F100. I’m excited about that. I have found a 1990 Crown Victoria donor car that I could strip the engine, transmission and computer controls out of and put into the truck, making it an EFI vehicle. I’m having trouble timing it so [...]

Whew.
My Father-in-law (Daddy), Robert Lee and I spent the day doing a 2 hour job to Daddy’s 1984 Bronco. All we wanted to do was change the water pump and thermostat. The water pump came off just fine, but one of the bolts that holds the thermostat to the intake manifold sheared off [...]
