Importation Update

Monday, February 27th, 2006

I think I have imported every cd that I have into ITunes at this point. I still don’t have the songs I’ve downloaded off download.com, but I think I will do that only for the best of the best.
Thus far the numbers look like this:
558 Songs
1.5 Days
2.05 Gb
And I’m guessing about 85% of that [...]

Supa Hot Uplifting

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

The 02/26/06 episode of The Chair and Automan is out. Download the MP3 directly here. Or better yet, get a podcatching client and subscribe to this podcast here. Or check out my Odeo channel.
In this episode:
I talk about my insulin pump, getting fat, Garageband, Ken and Nancy, FreeGeek.org and Uplifting. [...]

Garageband

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

I’ve been experimenting with garageband for my podcasts. Though it seems fairly straightforward there are some things that are upsetting me. For instance, it says that I should be able to add images into it by dragging and dropping. That is a no go for me. I’ve dragged and dropped until my [...]

Hydrogen Production By Algae

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

Wired News has an article about scientists trying to get commercial amounts of hydrogen from algae. I find it fascinating. I think that sort of thing is the way to go. Fuel from renewable resources.
Considering that the way insulin is produced is very similiar, I’m all for this sort of thing.

The Mahablog has an interesting way of looking at the abortion issue.

Importation

Friday, February 24th, 2006

I’m spending the first day of my seven days off doing very little. One thing that I am doing is populating the library of ITunes on my new laptop. I’ve been popping cds in for an hour or so now. I’ve noticed a couple of things about ITunes on the Mac. [...]

Spam

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

You know the weakest spam comment attempt is the one that says some version of “do you allow readers to subscribe to this blog’s rss feed?”.
Since rss feeds are things that are designed to be tapped into, it seems to me to be pretty much an insult to the blog owner’s intelligence to ask a [...]

Chess

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

One (perhaps the only, I’m not sure) of the games that came on the Mac was chess.
I’ve played it 2 times now. I’m already tired of getting my a$$ handed to me. It’s not that I have to win. It’s that I need to feel like it’s possible.
I don’t believe I’ve got [...]

MythBusters

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

Discovery Channel’s MythBusters is one of my favorite shows on TV. Not that I’m much of a TV watcher, but this show grabs my attention when I do have a few moments. Anybody that takes the time to investigate wether urinating on the third rail of the subway would actually shock you is okay [...]
