Emily got rollerskates recently. Man, she is sprouting up. Too fast.

Back

Wednesday, April 27th, 2005

Okay, I’m back online after having thrown away a day and a half of my life on this stupid computer. It is much faster now and I will do a test podcast tonight or tomorrow morning to see if I need to go buy an audio editor, too.

Screwing Everything Up

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

I decided to try upgrading my RAM and hard drive before buying an audio editor. The RAM is quite easy but the hard drive is a different story. I still haven’t gotten it right and actually booted this computer using the old one just so I could post this and check my email. I will have to call the customer support people in the morning and have them figure out what the hell I’m doing wrong.

They will probably tell me that my first mistake was trying to do this stuff myself.

Sigh

Monday, April 25th, 2005

I have been screwing around with Audacity for HOURS now trying to get another podcast out and it just ain’t happening. Maybe tomorrow. I’m going to have to buy an audio editor. It’s that simple.

ATL

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

Now it is my turn to head to Atlanta, this time with my wife and Robert Lee (her cousin). We take him to Atlanta every year for his birthday. We are going to check out the Braves game tonight and do some shopping and eat too much.

There are a couple of Year One auto shows going on in Braselton and Commerce and I’m hoping to talk them into checking one or the other of them out tomorrow. They like muscle cars, too, so it shouldn’t be a hard sell. In fact, Marilyn has already expressed an interest in it so, we will see if it is worth the side trip tomorrow.

Crown Victoria No Go

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

The cats I wanted to get the Crown Vic from sold it before I could get back with them, so that is a no go. I’m going to check out the new Iwanta and see if there might be another available elsewhere. I can’t wait to get the turn signal switch in and be done with that.

In bad news, old girl let me down on the way home last night. I had just pulled off the interstate and she flooded out and wouldn’t start back up. I tried until I thought I was going to kill the battery and then let her sit for about 20 minutes. I still couldn’t get her cranked and was just about to walk to the gas station about half a mile from where I was and decided to give it one last try. She fired up then and I drove on home.

The carb is obviously dripping liquid gas which is not a good thing considering that liquid gas is not flammable. It needs to spray into the carb and it’s not doing that correctly. I’m going to have to tinker with it to get it right, but I would prefer just to swap the whole thing over to fuel injection. Despite the seeming complications, it is actually a much easier thing to deal with.

No Sunshine

Tuesday, April 19th, 2005

My wife is in ATL for the night so she can give a talk tomorrow at some convention. The baby is at her Nana’s house and I’m here by myself for the evening.

Sigh.

This sucks.

It’s like a day without sunshine.

Turn Signals

Monday, April 18th, 2005

I finally ordered the correct turn signal switch for the F100. I’m excited about that. I have found a 1990 Crown Victoria donor car that I could strip the engine, transmission and computer controls out of and put into the truck, making it an EFI vehicle. I’m having trouble timing it so that I and the people who currrently own the crown vic are available simultaneously. If/when I do it, it should be the beginnning of an excellent adventure.
